When we think about posture, we think about standing straight with shoulders back.
But posture starts lower. And deeper.
First pillar: the feet.
They send information to your brain about the ground and your balance.
A collapsed arch, uneven weight, or an old injury can create a chain of compensation.
Knees. Hips. Lower back.
Second pillar: the eyes.
They guide how your head is positioned.
If your gaze compensates, your neck follows. And your spine adjusts with it.
Third pillar: the inner ear.
This is your balance center.
If it works harder than it should or unevenly, your body tightens to stay stable.
Result: ongoing tension.
In sports therapy, we don’t just look at where it hurts. We look at these three pillars to understand how your body is adapting.
Because correcting posture without fixing the cause doesn’t last.
If you feel recurring pain, instability, or postural fatigue, your body is likely compensating.
