Playing tennis, pickleball or padel this summer? The Achilles tendon is often the first injury to sideline your season and yet, it's largely preventable.
At RESET, our team sees a spike in Achilles tendinopathy cases every summer among racket sport players. The good news: with the right approach, you can prevent the injury, speed up recovery and come back to the court stronger than before.
PREVENT — Before the pain starts
The classic mistakes: jumping back in too fast after winter, switching shoes without a transition period, skipping conditioning. The Achilles tendon doesn't handle sudden overload well. A progressive calf strengthening program and good ankle mobility make all the difference — and it takes less time than a match.
TREAT — If the pain is already there
Don't play through pain. An ignored tendinopathy can become chronic within weeks. Our therapists quickly assess the state of the tendon and build a targeted protocol: manual therapy, eccentric exercises, gradual return to play.
RECOVER — Back on the court, for good
Recovery isn't about complete rest — it's about the right exercises at the right time. We support you all the way through to a full return to sport, without relapse.
